Pet Items
Things I’ve made for my beloved pets (three dogs and a pampered guinea pig).
Trilby’s Tent
This is where she sleeps every night, curled up in her tent. Since the pictures were taken, I’ve added a large clip to the top of the tent which makes it much easier to take out of the cage for washing. This way I can leave the yarn tied to the cage (holding the tent in place) where it is and no readjusting when it’s replaced is required.
Trilby’s Tunnel
She LOVES this thing. It’s one of her favorite toys. She even naps in it. Lately, she’s taken to running through it really face, circling around and darting back in. It’s too funny to watch. Machine washable. Just take it out of the cage, shake it out over the trash can and toss into the washer.
Trilby’s Taxi
This is my first attempt at a pet taxi of any size. It turned out really great for making it up as I went along. I’m currently working on a second and writing up a pattern for it, which will be my first for sale pattern. As soon as it’s ready, I’ll give links to where it’s available. I will also include alternate instructions for making this a child’s toy for his/her stuffed animals.
Trilby fits into it perfectly, with room to turn around if she wants. It’s snug, which makes her feel more secure and it holds up fantastically to her weight (all 2-3lbs of it). It opens from the top, which allows plenty of room for putting your fur baby into it and taking him/her out of it. The handle is extra sturdy, and it’s machine washable.
I plan to create hamster and small dog versions of this carrier as well.
At a later date when I complete a few more projects, I hope to compile all my guinea pig patterns into ebook form, so the patterns will be available individually and as a whole.
